Building the SpiritThis is the Spirit of Flames's hanger, 4 months prior to its completion.
The Spirit of Flames was a massive project taking Epsilon a full year to complete.
Here we can see at the 10 month mark most of the Titanium composite hull is complete. Internal computer systems, fuel cells, wiring, pipes, and the gravity repulsar system are installed.
Epsilon can be seen looking at the display output for the test run on one of the twin Plasma Corbine Engines. The engine is fastened securely to the floor so it can't move and is being operated at maximum output to test its capacities.
The test results cam back as thus
- 30,000 KG (over 30 tons) of thrust, it must output at least 20,000 KG to pass.
- Initial Exhaust Temperature at 900 degrees Celsius (1652 degrees Fahrenheit), it must not exceed 1000 degrees.
- Operated at maximum capacity for 15 minutes, the minimum required time.
The engine passed the test with flying colors, and the other engine can be seen against the far wall waiting to be tested.
In the middle of the room is the right "wing". It is ready to have its circuitry and and other components connected to the body. It houses a foot of the landing gear, the right rear stabilizer gyro, and the vent for the read fuel cells.
Several components still need to be installed, and it will take another 4 months to complete the Spirit.
Of course, once everything is installed and tested the Spirit will be ready to receive its distinctive coat of paint.
I had an idea, and went with it.
